Grant Guidelines
Purpose of Grant
When the Trustees deem that there are additional funds from our fundraising activities to contribute to the Youth Activities Program Grant, we plan to allocate them to community program activities that demonstrate Youth Driven Initiatives, incorporating elements of Active Living and Outdoor Appreciation that benefit children and youth (up to the age of 21).
Eligibility Criteria
Your organization must be a charity registered with the Canada Revenue Agency.
Your program is based in Eastern Ontario.
Your group is either:
- Youth-led where youth between the ages of 12 to 25 years are responsible for the planning, decision-making and operations of the group
- Youth-focused where youth and adults work in partnership and where young people play a significant role and have significant representation in the group’s planning, decision-making, and delivery of activities
We support youth programming that is open to all youth regardless of gender, race, creed, economic status, physical abilities, etc.
All costs funded by the grant must be eligible and necessary to carry out the described program activities.
Eligible expenses include:
- Registration costs for youth at risk and/or from low-income families;
- Costs for equipment;
- Space rental (for program activities only)
- Rental or purchase of equipment necessary for the program activities
- Program activities supplies (paper, pens, etc.)
- Travel including tickets for public transportation for program participants
- Refreshments
- Staffing costs (new or existing paid positions)
- Honorariums (youth, volunteers)
- Programs that are not designed specially for youth
- Capital infrastructure projects
- Childcare costs for staff and volunteers
- Expenses related to political activities
- General or ongoing operating expenses (unrelated to program activities)
- Deficit reduction
- Bursaries, scholarships, sponsorships or individual requests
- Fundraising campaigns
Submission Reminder
The complete application submission (authorized application form and required attachments) must be received by the Greater Fort Town Area Charity by no later than the application deadline March 31st. Late or incomplete submissions will be deemed ineligible.

Confirmation of Submission
Applicants will receive an email within two business days that the application submission was received. If a confirmation email is not received in two business days, it is the responsibility of the applicant to contact a fund representative.
Conditions
- In the event that the funds are not used as described in this application, or if there are misrepresentations in this application, the full amount of the grant is to be returned to the Greater Town Area Charity.
- If there are any changes to this application, the organization will notify the Greater Fort Town Area Charity of such changes through Michel Larose.
- If the program as outlined in this application does not occur, is not completed, or does not require the full amount of the grant, the remaining amount is to be returned to the Greater Fort Town Area Charity.
- The organization will send in a financial report by May 01, 2020 to show how the funds were used and if any are remaining.
